Every Resilience Safari is private — your vehicle, your guide, your itinerary. No shared departures, no compromise. Private safaris in Northern Tanzania from USD 350pp/day.
Every Resilience Safari is a private safari. This is not a premium upgrade or an optional extra. It is our baseline — the only way we have ever operated and the only way we ever will.
A private safari means your vehicle, your guide, and your schedule for the entire duration of your trip. It means the game drive departs when you are ready and returns when you want to return. It means when your guide spots a leopard in a tree, you stay with that leopard for as long as the leopard stays in the tree — not until the next group on the minibus decides they have seen enough. It means your interests — whether you are a birder, a photographer, a family with young children, or a couple on a honeymoon who want the sunrise entirely to themselves — shape every day of the safari.
The alternative — the shared group safari, with a fixed departure schedule and up to seven strangers sharing your vehicle and your sightings — has its place for budget-conscious solo travellers. It is not what Resilience Safaris does. We do not believe a shared safari can provide the depth and personalization that transforms a holiday into an experience with lasting meaning. And lasting meaning is what we are here to provide.
| Vehicle | Custom 4×4 Land Cruiser or equivalent. Pop-top roof for standing game viewing. Maximum 6 guests |
| Guide | Born East African guide. Your guide stays with your group for the entire trip |
| Itinerary | Built around you — your interests, pace, dietary requirements, and travel goals |
| Flexibility | Game drives adapt in real time to wildlife sightings and your preferences |
| Departure | Daily at your preferred time — we suggest 6:00am but always accommodate guest preferences |
| Privacy | No other guests in your vehicle. Ever. |
On a private safari, your guide knows you. Not as a group of clients but as specific people with specific interests. By Day 2, your guide knows that you want to spend longer with the elephants than the lions. By Day 3, they know your preferred shooting angle for photography and position the vehicle accordingly. By Day 4, they have remembered that you mentioned your father loved giraffes, and when a tower of six giraffe appears on the horizon they position so the light falls on them perfectly and give you time before saying a word.
This accumulation of personal knowledge — impossible in a shared vehicle with rotating strangers — is what makes the difference between a safari and a Resilience Safari.
Private safaris are the only appropriate format for families with children. The schedule adapts to the children’s energy levels, the game drives return to camp when the youngest guest needs lunch, and the guide focuses on the wildlife that children find most engaging — elephant calves, lion cubs, the termite mounds that the aardvark visits at dusk. A family on a shared safari vehicle cannot ask the guide to spend twenty minutes watching the young lion learning to hunt without inconveniencing six other paying guests. A family on a private Resilience Safari can ask for anything.
The Northern Circuit is one of the world’s great honeymoon destinations — and a private safari is the only format that allows the experience to be genuinely romantic. Sundowner stops arranged specifically for two. Bush picnic lunches at locations your guide has chosen for the view rather than the logistics. The game drive returning at dusk rather than rushing back for the shared lodge dinner schedule. We have designed dozens of honeymoon safaris in the Northern Circuit and we know, specifically, how to make the landscape work for the people in love within it.
| RESILIENCE GUIDE TIP
If you are travelling as a couple or a small family and are offered a ‘private-exclusive’ minibus option at a lower price than a dedicated Land Cruiser, decline it. A minibus with only two guests still cannot go off-road, still cannot follow an animal track into the bush, and still sits higher and less comfortably than a proper safari vehicle. The private Land Cruiser is the foundation of the private safari experience — not an optional upgrade. |
